Editorial Policy

How Stroke Sisters distinguishes lived experience, educational information, commercial relationships, and professional medical care.

    Our purpose

Stroke Sisters is a community and informational platform created to support female stroke survivors and caregivers. We are not a medical provider. Our articles, podcast episodes, community resources, and product pages are provided for educational and supportive purposes only.

    Author experience

Health articles identify Angie Read as the Founder and CEO of Stroke Sisters, a two-time stroke survivor with more than 20 years of experience in public relations and communications. Her survivor experience provides an important personal perspective, but it is not a medical credential.

    Lived experience and educational information

First-person stories and guest accounts describe individual experiences. They should not be treated as proof that another person will have the same symptoms, treatment response, or recovery outcome. General health information is educational and does not replace advice from a physician, therapist, pharmacist, registered dietitian, or another qualified healthcare professional who understands your circumstances.

    Sources and medical review

Where an article already names an organization or resource, that attribution is preserved and identified for readers. A named organization is not the same as a complete citation. Stroke Sisters does not claim that an article has been reviewed or approved by a medical professional unless a named reviewer and verified credentials are displayed. No verified medical reviewer is currently listed on this website.

    Publication dates and updates

The publication date displayed on an article reflects the date stored with that article. A separate updated date is shown only when a reliable update date is available. The current health articles do not display separate updated dates.

    Corrections

Readers can report a possible error or request a correction by emailing hello@strokesisters.com. Please include the page title or URL and a description of the concern. Corrections and material updates should be reflected clearly when verified information is available.

    Advertising and affiliate links

Some links may be affiliate links, which can support Stroke Sisters at no extra cost to the reader. An affiliate or commercial relationship does not constitute medical endorsement. Additional details are available in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

    Medical disclaimer

Stroke Sisters does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult qualified healthcare professionals for personal medical decisions. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency services immediately.
